Sealants:
Dental sealants are a protective coating used to protect the teeth against decay-causing bacteria deep within the grooves and fissures on the chewing surfaces of molars.  Sealants are needed because toothbrush bristles are too large to reach all the way into the grooves.

Fluoride:
Fluoride treatments are recommended for everyone twice a year to help prevent tooth decay.  Unfortunately, insurance only typically covers applications once per year for children up to age 14.  If you would like you or your family to continue receiving biannual fluoride treatment please ask.

Occlusal Guards:
Bruxism is the term that refers to unintentional grinding and clenching of the teeth, typically done during sleep.  Most individuals are unaware that they have developed this habit.  Damage caused by bruxism often includes the following symptoms abraded teeth, facial and jaw pain, oversensitive teeth, headaches, damage to the tooth enamel.  Treatment usually involves an upper removable specially-fitted plastic mouth appliance that is worn at night to absorb the force of biting and protect the teeth.  This appliance helps to prevent future damage to the teeth and jaw joint(TMJ).

Vizilite:
Our office offers cutting edge technology in the early detection of oral cancer.  Vizilite is a non-invasive exam that can be performed in minutes once a year at your dental cleaning appointment.  The face of oral cancer is changing, any patient over the age of 18 is at an increase risk for this disease.  It is absolutely necessary to catch this form of cancer in its earliest stages to prevent disfiguring surgeries or even death.

Digital Radiographs:
All radiographs, or x-rays, taken at our office are digital.  This allows our staff members to have an instant look at your x-rays allowing for a more complete assessment of your dental health.  Digital radiography also uses a lesser amount of radiation, benefiting you.
